Succession for tribal factions! Needs to change
Succession creates a lot of blobbing for AI especially for tribal factions. The Ai can never build a big empire because of it.

(That's border gore, blobbing is the big empires you want. Close enough eh)

Either way I think that's purely by intent. In CK2 there was no Confederate Succession, so the Tribals could make stupidly massive empires that just got in the way of everything without being cool or anything. Stretched from Norway to Kiev, yikes.
They were usually led by impossibly long-living degenerates who somehow kept stable land.
Believe me I'm sure someone could make a mod for you, but it's a terrible idea trust me ;)

Also on a sidenote, don't we have enough to worry about? Hungary and Poland always get sucked up by the Germans or the Byzantines. We definitely don't need a super Scandinavia ;)

I've seen plenty of big AI empires. It's sustaining them that's the problem for it, but I don't think that's anything to do with succession; most of the time they're either slowly chipped away by neighbours or collapse internally.

Yeah, its broken, I hate having to travel to africa in order to increase my warscore against Sweden. Vassal inheritance is at fault here, titles should not be seperated that easily from an existing realm.

The AI has trouble forming tribal empires because it tend to have their rulers leading armies. So it constantly gets them killed and their realm split. The amount of land to form an empire is crazy high, so the realms usually split before that happens. If you play with the de jure rule, that destroy titles if no de jure land is hold (on for AI by default!) then they pretty much cannot form empires.

That's historically accurate, although a bit early.

It doesnt matter if they form an empire, they can still split apart because a person from another nation can inherite their vassal's titles, which is why some nations are all over the map.

Maybe because they SHOULD apart? We aren't know about any successful tribal empires - go feudal or die (or at least go nomad when they will be playable :P).

There have been pretty big and successful tribal confederations in history. Even the mongols were essentially tribal and only adopted a more feudal government structure when they were done conquering. The whole thing with categorizing into Feudal, Tribal, Clan, Nomad, Republic, Theocracy has some inherent flaw from a historic point of view but it pretty much has to exist from a gameplay perspective.
There probably should be a few unique inheritance laws for Tribal societies in the game but the way it is now, there just wont be a big tribal empire being formed by the AI, actually, all the big end game empires are usually of player origin or were there from the start.
