Domestic Affairs/Direct Vassal Opinion
Hey folks. Sometimes I will assign my Chancellor to Domestic Affairs, particularly in my current situation where I'm a new ruler. My Chancellor's Diplomacy is a whopping 26, and so the tooltip shows his max amount he can improve opinion is +13.

I have used this in the past, and as the tooltips reads, the opinion of direct vassals will increase monthly by increments shown in the tooltip. I have had this Chancellor on this task for about a year and his progress still shows as 0. Also, none of my Direct Vassals have any Domestic Opinion buffs as they normally would. The Chancellor should be gaining progress at about 0.5 per month. I have even tried swapping him to another task and back just to see if it was bugged.

Does anyone know of any reason why the Domestic Affairs task would not be working in this case? Thanks.

Still hoping for some input on this one if anyone has any idea. My Chancellors still don't appear to be contributing to domestic opinion, and my realm is nearing Civil War :(

Can't really say, maybe a bug. Only thing comes to mind, are you sure you are checking correct vassals? Like if you are king, your direct vassals are dukes or counts without dukes. Counts under dukes are not your direct vassals.

I discovered the issue. Not sure why, but as long as I had another Liege (I joined an Empire to convert to Feudal) my Chancellor's Domestic Affairs buff didn't seem to be progressing. This lasted through 3 Chancellor's and about 2 years. Even though I had several Direct Vassals, it was not until I declared Independence did the Domestic Affairs buff seem to work again.

Not sure if that's working as intended. It would seem that I should still be able to affect my own Direct Vassals without issue.

It sounds like a bug.
