how do i grant independance as an emperor?
Am i wrong or can't i grant any independance unless i capture another empire? It seems you can only give independance to titles of the same level as yourself.

You want to grant independence to a count or duke? It worked just fine for me. Dont know what could be the problem.

If count belongs to another duke or duke belongs to another king under you, you need to retract vassal from them first before you can grant them independence.

You can give independence to anybody who is lower than your rank as long as they are your vassal and NOT part of your de-jure highest title.

The King of England cannot give independence to the count of Kent because Kent is de-jure part of England. He can give independence to the count of Dublin, however, because it's not de-jure part of his kingdom.

However, they have to be YOUR vassal. You cannot give independence to counts or dukes who are vassals of your other vassals. Also you cannot give independence if you're not the top liege. You can't give independence to a count if you're a vassal duke of a king or an emperor. You can't give your liege's land away, only he can do that.

I am the emperor of britannia. My son is the king of england. I was trying to give away the county of dover, which was in my duchy. When it didnt work, i destroyed the duchy title, and it still would not work.

I am trying to give 8 counties to my dynasty as independant rulers so i can get the "dynasty of many crowns". My daughter is already the independant queen of Jerusalem so i only need 8 titles.

County of Dover is de jure part of Kingdom of England which is de jure part of Empire of Brittania. You can't give it away.

As @Dayve pointed out.... You could give away Ireland, assuming you're also the king of Ireland. At least I think you can. I'm not sure if Ireland is a de jure part of Britannia. I've not formed Brittania.

Or you could give away, say, Brittany, if you were the King or Duke of Brittany. I'm pretty sure that's not a de jure part of Brittania.
Pretty sure Dynasty of Many Crowns requires a King-tier title, also.

Yep yep... which is why I think Brittany is perfect for experimenting. A one-duchy kingdom would be perfect for that.

For this achievment is Italy perfect. it has Naples, Italy, Genua, Pisa, Sicily, Venice, Croatia and Burgundy nearby, Easy to conquer Tunis and Tripoli. Just dont form the Empire.

If the description correct, you don't need 10 kings.

You need 10 independant rulers. Of which 1 at least is king or higher. Meaning 9 counties should suffice, as long as i find a way to grant them.
