no. you spend alot of money and resources on something that will never EVER be avalible when you need it since the AI factions rent them out every damn second. Super limited what you can use them for as well and honestly they dont give that much punch for the sheer amount of resources you have to put into them. I got them for the achievement and then was never able to use them in battle.

Still on my first game, but I founded the Knights Templar 50 years ago in England and have had no events so far.

So you lose money on them ? no profit at all even when they are always rented out?

Making money off them?
Nope. Only exception is if you're part of a very small religious group.

You dont get money from them, the are completely autonomous. You recieve no income from the jobs they do. This is something I fully imagine will get properly fleshed out in a DLC but this totally feels like a slapdash placeholder for something much bigger. As they are right now it is completely useless and a waste of resources. In 200 years since I founded them I wasnt able to use them once, every crusade they are instantly rented out and there are no events for them,

Yeah, the only benefit of patronizing one is raising them for no piety, but I'm far from heathens and have never used them.

they ask you to grant them another holding. a castle or city. if you give it to them they give you a lot of gold. first city - 250, 2nd castle 470, 3rd castle almost 800. that was in my playthrough. and i managed to use them once. they are pretty strong

There should be special build/upgrade options available for any ruler who leases land to a Holy order. I want the game to reward me with play options for taking up one of my tiles.

Otherwise I don't give a stuff about them.

I've only ever gotten the chance to use them once, and they only gave me 1000 men, which couldn't fight the 3000 men per county I was fighting
They also never get bigger or better, always the same ~800 levies an 300 heavy infantry. Giving them a city with no buildings vs a fully-built one also makes no difference.

Yes it is worthy, random event ask you to lend some land (idk i lend land or not) around 300-500 gold

It makes the faith more secure against invaders. Should man not serve his fellows in faith without need of reward?

They keep asking to lease holdings, later on i got 750g each time. These were always cities in counties held by vassals.

There seems to be a bug though where they never actually take hold of these cities; i also made a thread about this but no replies so far.

Anyways, the orders are absolutely free of charge, you just need to start them up in a barony owned by yourself. Make sure this is not a castle in your capital, otherwise you waste a precious slot.

They are extremely worth it, if you care about your religion
