How do I find who is behind a murder attempt?
So, I've discovered an ongoing murder attempt of me. And I wonder whether 'Find Secrets' or 'Disrupt Schemes' would be the best task in order to find out who the mastermind is?

disrupt schemes.

Find secret is to know about ... well... secrets ... of your court and vassals

If its against you and you want to live, disrupt schemes

I think he meant if there was an ACTIVE way to find the murderer. As far as I know it's just up to RNG, however if you have a Rival or a Vassal who REALLY hates your guts, it might be worth rolling the dice and arresting them.

It's pretty much up to you to do the detective work.

Of course if it's another foreign ruler there isint much you can do except try to get them before they get you.

Thanks! that's what I meant to ask.

But let's say I kinda know who the mastermind might be, will it work If I use 'Find secret' in his court?

Possibly, but honestly unless your SUPER LUCKY it's better to keep your Spymaster on Disrupt Schemes. Remember when your looking for secrets your 'shields are down' essentially.

Disrupt schemes and having a spymaster who likes you and high intrigue is the only way.

aside from disrupt scheme, theres some way to stop them if you know who might be the mastermind and they happen to be your vassal or courtier. for example, putting them in charge / a part of a losing battle. putting them in an area with the plague. etc
