Cuckoldery in this game is out of control
Seriously this plays less as an accurate look into medieval politics as an AU medieval Jerry Springer show. Your family can not be your family in a heartbeat and there's absolutely nothing you can do to stop it. The game can just decide hey you watched your wife like a hawk with a really great spymaster but we're going to decide she had a lover you just didn't know about and your firstborn son is actually someone else's. This doesn't add depth to the game it just pokes at the player and ruins any sense of pride they might have had in their dynasty. Not only that it seems that Paradox wants to say that all women will open their legs for just about anyone. Even if it means betraying their husband+king+soulmate. I mean seriously my king got cucked by a fat syphallitic drunkard. And I was using CHEATS to make sure I knew all the realm secrets. There was no affair. Paradox just decided hey let's ♥♥♥♥ on his picnic now. It .. is .. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Well, it can be very appealing for female audience since, you know, a kid female get is always hers, so they chose anyone they want to make the kid and then can chose a pretender to be a father. They have all the power :D

I have been thinking should players try romance their wife in game and be loyal to her, that could it affect whereabouts of the wife :D

Just place your wife under house arrest and pump her full of babies.
I once played an England game where it turned out my son was an incestuous abomination of my wife and her father, whom I granted lands just 10 years before. I rage quit and could not bring myself to play England since.

Oh man that is so funny, welcome to the English nobility. You are next up on krunjar's Jerry Springer show.

You should execute her and her father. Messsucher is right, its not the kids fault, he could still be your heir.

It would be nice if it were more of a function where you had 90% compliance by religion.

In my second generation the wife gave 2 daughters. One was from cheating behind the King's back. In the third generation 2/3 daughters had to be arrested for sleeping around. Things are definitely out of hand. I think only one of these women had the lustful trait.

Do you have daughters which are adult? If you just knew what they do, maybe better you don't :D

I've experienced the same. My first born son, was actually mine to start with. The game just decided it would alter that when he was 18yo and say my wife had an affair and my child was no longer mine. It doesn't make sense and is a bit immersion breaking if there actually was no affair to begin with and it's just made up later on depending on what the rng decides. Needs to be removed.

For sure, they must be yelled at Paradox forums to fix that ♥♥♥♥.

Its a mixture of rampant Ai seduction, at least one bugged event (perhaps two, situation unclear at this point) and not factoring in a lot of factors in the seduced persons decision to whether to be seduced or not. Like her husbands dread.

"Gee, my husband tracked down all the men which slept with his first wife, castrated and blinded them before he executed them after they had healed. Meanwhile he is off for the 5-yearly torture session with aforementioned wife, who has been spayed and blinded for the crime of trying to pass of her son as the rightful heir of the kingdom. Hmm, better jump on any ♥♥♥♥ in the vicinity!

Don't take wifes with a lustful trait or high intrigue skill. Chaste is actually a good choice, despite it sounding like a horrible one, just make sure to marry them when they are young. Once you have a child, forbid it from becoming a knight.
You also may consider switching to female preference/female only inheritance laws later on. If all important marriages are matrilinear it doesn't matter who fathered the child, the dynasty lives on.

I think there are two main problems:
First with only 5 Lifestyles, about 20% of all characters in game go for Intrige. Of those, a good number will put points into the seduction tree.
Then, there is the problem of distances. Seduction should probably be limited to who is close by. It doesn't make sense that my courtier in Castille has fornicated with someone in Sweden. It should be limited to someone who isn't month of travel away, however, this would make the seduction tree pretty useless.

Also good chance, that dread is not actually useful here, as the action is coming from someone against your wife, not you. This probably should be changed into dread extending to the closer family.

I just love when my genius, amazonian, pretty king (me) with beatiful (only) got beatiful, genius, amazonian son and choose him to be my hair. 4 years later some hunchback albino say he is father. Just wtf. It would be impossible for them to creaty such perfect stats.

If she really cheated on me, atleast let make this as possibility as now it looks like my wife was just angry because burning every rivals on my feast. Then she decided to make revenge and just pointed random guy to just angry me.

For me it seems like some random event that just fire to often.

Unfortunately this sort of thing does actually happen in real life. However I agree that this sucks as a game mechanism, games are supposed to reduce stress, your stress not your characters, not increase it.

Just usual paradox degeneracy, don’t pay much attention to that or simply mod out.

In CK2 there was a similar event. The funniest thing was that it didn’t check if child had a twin. You could have one twin declared bastard and second one remain a legitimate one.

Different people find different kinds of games relaxing. For instance, puzzles drive me up a wall, for others they help them sleep... if a game is too stressful, you should play something else. I personally laugh at these kinds of things happening in a game and don't mind them one bit. It's like an interactive soap opera (with much higher stakes) to me :)
