Reforming Ancient Egypt (sort of) as an intellectual exercise
So I've just finished my North Sea Empire which was a lot of fun because vikings are always fun.

So now I decided I'd try, as an intellectual exercise, to rebuild the kingdom of Ancient Egypt. Now obviously neither the Ancient Egyptian religion exist in the game to reform/revive or the kingdom of Egypt as it was in Antiquity exist in the game as a title.

So I'm mostly building from scratch (and obviously I don't expect close accuracy), I started as the unreformed Kushite high chief located in between Makuria and Axoum since Kushite in the game has Egyptian trappings and the location is in the Nile region so in the area where the ancient kingdom of Egypt was found at the height of it's expansion

I've just captured 3 of the holy sites and I'm slowly working my way towards bringing all of the Nile region under my heel. The last step obviously will be take the Nile Delta from the abassids there and move my capital there as well.

I don't expect the military conquest aspect of the self-imposed challenge to be too difficult and once I get the requisite titles to form the Empire of Abyssinia, I can just rename it to Empire of Egypt or something similar that would be as accurate as the current game state allows

But I'm looking at the cultural and religion aspect, I'm going to reform the religion soon either on my current ruler or his son, because like it or not if I want to survive and progress, I'll need to feudalize.

So basically I'm just looking for some suggestions flavor wise of cultural traditions and more importantly on what would be good tenets, pillars and the like to have the reformed Kushite religion feel as close to Ancient Egyptian religion as possible within the limited context of the game, and same thing for reforming the culture.

I'm not looking to build a religion and culture to overpower and conquere the entire map or anything just build something entirely on flavor and aesthetic that is functional enough that I won't gimp my ability to progress yet still feels at least in flavor, close to ancient egyptian religion

Get Seafaring so you can navigate the Nile. I'm not sure of all the terrain, but Wetlanders will give you bonuses if you have a lot of wetlands.

Traditions i think a spiritual ethos is good. or maybe egalatarian because women a more accepted as rulers.

in ancient egypt incestous marriages would be a possiblity to keep the bloodline of the pharaos pure. so maybe take martial ceremonies and the one religious tenet for incest marriages.
( divine Marriage)
agrarian gives bonuses to floodplain so this is a must have .

i could imagine ruling cast or hereditary hierarchy as the egyptians had a strong hierachy,

fervent temple builders to build the tombs of the pharaoes

maritime mercantilism or seafarer bbecause the spice must flow and indian trade routes go through egypt.

archers are the pride of egypt especially chariot archers. we dont have this unit but horse breeders is a good traditons for cavalry warrior of the dry gives bonuses to the desert or take some regional tradition from thje berber or beduin cultures if you want a hybrid culture.

land of the bow to have your special unit the nile archer.

for religion
take divine marriage
esotericsm for the mysty perk to have your wise Priests
and ancestor worship
Or megalith construction and pretend to build pyramids
i also like reincarnation but thats up to you , may not fit theme.
thats how i would do it maybe i could inspire you;)

kushite is a religion in the game and while its more of a modern revival mixed with ideas from the southern area of the ancient egyptian the religion still pretty close to what ancient egyptians would have had. its similar to how the norse religion is now called asatru its just a modern revival of it.

If you're going to revive Egyptian culture and religion, I think you are required by natural law to select Divine Marriage.
