Court language
Hey guys, i've been playing royal court for a while now, my empire having kingdom vassals in every corner of the map, so i've been having a look at the achievement "lingua franca". It annoys me that i cant seem to find any information about how the court language mechanic actually works. Despite my court language by far holding the largest grandeure bonus, i still find my vassals adopting arabic as their court language. It doesn't seem like we have any way of influencing the court language of other courts, making this achievement borderline impossible, at least it seems so to me. I might be missing something here, but in that case there's at the very least not enough information about the system.

I found it seems to be basing them on sub groups rather then actual languages sadly. Like French and the other language I forget the name are part of one group. English and Anglo Saxon seem to be part of the same group.

Yeah that much I understand, i just find it really annyoing how I've practically destroyed the muslim world, but because of my vassals constantly adopting the arabic court language, it maintains a larger pull than mine. Even if i replace the kingdom tier vassals with someone from my culture, they instantly adopt arabic... No joke, all the substansial contributors to the arabic language grandeure are vassals of mine... There should be an option to ban a court language from your realm, a feudal contract to force their court language, or simply an option to demand the change like you can with religion.

There's a man I think you'd be very interested to get in contact with.[metalgear.fandom.com]

I'd like to know how to influence other courts to adopt my language. Someone said it has something to do with grandeur but only 2 kingdoms adopted my language

That's the whole thing, there is nothing that indicates you can do that. I literally just now finished off the Abbassid Empire, and guess who replaced him as representative of the court language? My vassal in Syria... It should at the very least be a strong incentive for vassals to adopt their liege court language...

Well, to influence court languages from what I seen from the last few dev videos you need to learn that language and than you will be able to choose your native court language or the other language or both languages, this will allow you to get gradual from the other language over time, also you could hybridize from your culture and the other culture which should make it easier for your language to be learned.

Influencing your own court language isn't the issue though. It's spreading your own to other courts, which it the requirement for the lingua franca achievement. Currently it seems impossible to achieve, as you have little to no way of influencing both the court languages of your vassals, and other kingdoms alike. The grandeure bonus doesn't seem to impact what they choose. I've revoked the title of my french vassal several times and replaced him with a new one, but every time they adopt the french language, despite it having no grandeure bonus, and mine having 15+
