Catholic Polygamy?

certain cultures have polygamy built into them like welsh and irish, which overrides catholic monogamy, or you can just adopt the polygamy tradition in any culture

I did that when i hybrid my culture and added the polygamy, but the pope just told me it's a sin and i have to change it. plus i also have to have the gender thing policy. which makes it impossible to happen. so i was asking if there will be at some point allow me to do it.

I haven't tried it but the Pope definitely can't crusade you if you are catholic. However, I suppose practising polygamy would incur some sort of a relationship penalty and lack of piety.

You can always form your own catholicism though, with blackjack, and polygamy.

IIRC you take a hit to piety and your relationship with the pope. Not sure if there's further ramifications beyond that; for some weird reason every pope that's demanded the Welsh-Irish give up polygamy died in mysterious circumstances shortly afterwards. Must have been an act of God.

Irish Catholics can do this, for instance. Culture overrides religion now. Irish culture allows polygamy, and historically this was in fact a problem they had with the Catholic church, as well as allowing Irish priest to marry. I'm sure there are other examples in the game too.
