Report a translation problem
1. get a strong lever on your emperor. this still allows you to fight a war and therefore become stronger
2. besides independence you could afaik also try to start a faction in order to lower the authority. maybe some other vassals are more likely to join that fraction
3. could you maybe try to shift the power within the empire with some scemes? befriend this person, murder that one... the jackpot would most likely be if you manage to kill the emperor. the heir will have some trouble within his early years to get the vassals under his control. this may be useful for getting fraction members. Besides that, depending on the heritage, there could also parts of the empire break free, which also weakens the emperor.
