Many months later, grand weddings are still a mess
The son of my character got married to his bethroded. However, this broke his bethrodal, so the wedding was invalidated (?????????).
Both him and his wife and now forever "waiting for wedding night" that will never come.
But this doesn't mean they don't have kids, in fact, it's accompanied by a special occasion!. His wife was seen leaving someone's chambers at night. Her husband's chambers.

Naturally this means both of them are adulterers and he imprisons both his wife and his newborn daughter.
So glad nobody is bothering fixing this nonsense in a 30 dollar DLC.

This only happens, if you marry a landed Child with a Grand Wedding, probably because the Spouse gets instantly teleported to their Spouse's Court and is then no longer at the Activity Location, so the Game cancels the Activity,

I did land my son, but this really shouldn't happen, and my spiel about not fixing bugs stands. It also doesn't explain why they aren't considered actually married by the game despite clearly showing as husband and wife.

It's far from the only bug connected to grand weddings, if the one hosting the wedding dies, the successor might not be able to ever host a grand wedding, since the game never clears it as cancelled or completed - happened to me multiple times.

Or the grand wedding betrothal expiring early. Or expiring with no explanation. Or the betrothed not being able to join with no explanation, there is just so much.

It does happen from time to time. Just break the betrothal and move on...sad case but...it won't kill the game just your prestige. After a bit, you'll get used to figuring out how to work marriages a lil better. It's just something you gotta learn by doing.

Just a tip, you can do up the marriage and then at the time of the marriage set it for a wedding. You can change message settings so when a finalizing marriage happens game pauses (I think, I just manually pause the game myself).

Good Luck

That is your Issue, you have landed your Son and when they are landed and marry via Grand Wedding, their new Spouse is auto-teleported to their Court and are no lonager available for the Grand Weddding, because they are no longer at the Wedding's Location.

Tip: Only marry unlanded Childs with unlanded Characters via Grand Weddings.
Don't marry them with an landed Character or a Family Member of an landed Character.

It's been too long since I've listened to Agent Denton's philosophical ramblings... time to play Deus Ex again.

I played it as a teen when it first released and absolutely loved it so there's a bit of nostalgia but in my opinion, it's one of the best games ever made. I'll still be playing it when it's 50 years old. There's a mod you can get on steam for free called Deus Ex: Revision which updates it a bit and makes it run better on modern systems.

When the power drops, go in and go in and go in like the US Marshall and his three daughters.

The GEP gun takedown is always the most silent way to eliminate Manderley.

Even betrothed to normal weddings get really messy sometimes.
Examples:

Your sons or daughters betrothed gets regent position, no you will wait years until spouse/regent is kicked out then you can marry. Reason spouse does not have high opinion even when at max 100.

Your son or daughters betrothed get locked out by AI ruler swapping hostages so you again wait if third ruler is ever going to release the hostage.
AI should not be able to offer a person in hostage if that person is already betrothed.
