You guys and your obsession with things being forced down your throats.
Wow. didn't think they would go that far with it. good for them.
Really though, I can't understand why people care at all what other people do in terms of marriage, make it a possibility through culture advancement or religion, or make it solely an option at start-up. either way, more options is usually better.
The game should be as historically accurate as possible at the start, but after those first few years, anything goes. I mean if I can make a worldwide death cult as a religion, why can't I have a divine gay marriage with human sacrifice or something religion? was it likely to happen in real life? no obviously, was it possible, sure, why not?
But more to the point: How does your dynasty continues after the inclusion of gay mechanic? Is it just for outside the line of succession? Or does it involve an adoptive-heir tradition similar to that acceptable in ancient Rome?
Maybe to continue continuity the next heir would have events and some kind of "mentorship" with the current ruler to act as a makeshift child-education thing (but still make raising children better or something)
But, no, yeah, adoption would be much easier than whatever mess I've suggested. If they do add adoption into the game though then I'd want to see a return of dynasty-wiping viruses. Man, dying sure was fun (not sarcasm).
As for gay marriage, I'd assume it'd just pass on to a relative.
I think the devs said it would, but since you can change all religions to accept homosexuality right now. it's not that big of a barrier of entry (if you want gay marriages to be a common-ish thing that is).
