Is it worth to buying royal edition?
this game is looks pretty interesting, but many people write that it is unplayable without dlc's. Is it worth paying extra for only 3 dlc's, is there any point? Because if people play this game for more than 100 hours only with DLC'S, then I would not want to buy it and then pay 10 times more for add-ons

If you have patience, I would recommend waiting a few years for more DLCs to get released. I would say that the Royal Edition is worth it if you want to play now. Especially since there is a sale going on.

I suggest you look at reviews on youtube. I don't know what kind of player you are. If you are a roleplayer like me and wants to learn the mechanics on your own, then this game will last hundreds of hours. If you are a min-max player (finding the quickest way to win/conquer) this will get stale fast.

With respect to many people, many people are idiots. There's only one DLC thus far and it's only useful in the least if you play in Scandinavia, 867. Even without it, you can still play as pagan vikings, you just miss out on some really nice appearance changes and some features specific to that region and that timeframe, such as shieldmaidens and bluts.

Despite this, many of us have logged hundreds, even over a thousand hours.

The game is completely playable without DLC. And the expansion looks really promising.

The Question you should ask is, how much will it cost the royal edition when the big expansion is released? (I hope at least in November..?) Would you prefer to buy it now ? or buy the season pass later if you want to start playing now? Will the season pass get a better discount than now? I don't know, i doubt. Maybe the base game is going to have a better discount.

Have fun!

The game that was KINDA unplayable without DLCs was CK2 cause the base game(no DLC at all) barely had any content in.

CK3 is 100% playable without the DLC, the DLC simply give additional content/mechanisms in the game.
You can buy the Royal Edition so you can get the 2 mini DLC and wait for the Large one to come out or you can wait for the large out to come out and buy the DLC separately.

Its up to you OP, good luck.
