How to play as Hasan?

I'm 2 about years into playing as Hasan-i Sabbah, which the game said had special story events to help lead you on the path of creating the Hashishin, but so far all I've gotten is the opportunity to hire the man who became my Second. Am I missing a trigger to continue to the next event, or do I just need to wait?
