Enemy armies gain hundreds of millions of troops after update
See the title. I am new to the game and worked for the last three days gaining the Irish Crown and now finally being able to mess with England, which in my last save before the update had about 9000 troops. After the update, that number spontaneously skyrocketed to over 300 Million. As this was about the estimated entire global population in 1100 AD, I might refrain from the fight for now.

The numbers also don't make sense within the game's statistics: They have 134 million of a possible maximum of 2000 longbowmen, 56 million of a possible maximum of 800 armored footmen, etc. And also 32 million mercenaries, with a whooping 139 gold in their chests, so I want to see the payment negotiations there.

I mean. Please fix this.

There is nothing to fix. You loaded an outdated save, the game warned you there would be issues, and you ignored that warning. If you want to keep playing an old save, roll back to the correct patch.

How do you roll back to the correct patch?

They should really just refuse to let you load an outdated save. Just pop up a text box saying please revert to the previous version to load this save.

Since Paradox made the baffling choice not to explain this in the in game UI, right click on the game in your games list, hit properties, go to the beta section and in the selection box across from "beta participation" at the top of the submenu, click where it says None and scroll back to the first "Old Version".

Well, I honestly did not see that warning, but thanks everyone, I did revert to the old patch and continue to play the old save.

I have a save where i had started a war and I had 1 billion levies xD The upkeep was also really hefty and my gold balance was -15000 or something in a one day. I reloaded a save where I had no war going on and the troops were as they were before the patch.

I didn't get any warnings, when clicking the continue button.

It's been common knowledge that major updates can mess up outdated saves, no?

Well it depends how new someone is to Paradox games and whether they happened to be in the middle of a game when a big DLC came out, and many other factors. 90% of gamers don't go on forums or discord or w/e until they have a problem.
