Why did it get so hard to kill someone suddelny?
Playing since a few hours the new dlc but im so confused about the new mechanics how to do a murder or anything related to intriges.
I need to convince people to help me fill all slots for the murder and get a 45% chance of sucess of a murder attempt where i got 95% before the patch. ( i loaded an old save and tryed to kill the same person) Then this person does a protection mechanism and i get a -100% chance to murder... so what is this "nice" mechanic now?!

Are you landed or landless?

I don't have dlc, This whole new intrigue ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is killing my vibe to play this game.
Before, murders were quicker and always were 95% success sometimes resulting in being known for murdering somebody.
NOW it's just impossible as a ruler to even kill a person, every time I have -100 success chance, advantages don't do anything other than wasting precious time waiting for max, for whatever reason my target AI gives me debuff to my current chance of -225% chance because of "accumulated over time" which doesn't make a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sense when a murder was in action for less than a two months.
Then there's the whole ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of "paying" agents.
If they are not gonna fix it or atleast revert it back to how it once was imma just revert back to previous update before this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

It's a step in the right direction, but I do agree they may have went too far with it perhaps. I think the base idea was to make the player choose between success chance, speed, and secrecy. As as well rewarding people dedicating a character to seduction and intrigue. Before you could basically seduce and kill anyone if you had enough gold, the only counter to moneybags who hated you was dread. I don't think I ever had issues with seduction secrecy prior to actual pregnancies before.

As for agents, I like the attempt from PDX to make you pick and choose and perhaps maybe even pay attention to the agents you hire. Whether or not this was successful is up to the individual player in the end, but it is certainly improvement versus the no names I only noted for the amount of gold the bribe would cost.

It certainly is a very big change, no doubt about it. Could they improve it and the community come to terms with their 0 intrigue character unable to kill a king? Hopefully, given time.

yes i like the idea of the system too, it somehow remembers me of older games like Knights of Honor that i loved to play.

But it doesnt matter what i do, even a landless person that roams through my empire is super hard to kill and it takes at least 2 years with a 55% chance to kill the person. Besides that now every few seconds i get a popup that someone killed someone in my clan.. idk how the KI is doing it but for them murdering looks way easier.
Even seduction is strange. in my first big game i had with one character 58 afairs and now i struggle to even keep one as a secret.

yeah maybe we wait a few patches till it gets better but lets see.

specailly in early game i always decided to play as a kingkiller. Destabilizing the current kingdom/empire till enough people died so my time to shine arrived. Now its even hard to kill as an emporer... so i somehow agree.

Look at the attributes needed for each role in the scheme and intrigue focus will help immensely

I still don't feel threatened by plots. I don't know about anyone else but I've not yet used any of the countermeasure options. It's like they put in this fancy new intrigue system but maybe the AI finds it hard to use as well, haha.

don't forget the agents add to your success chance and while it may start low as you build up advantage points the chances to succeed increase. Most my attempts generally hit 80% without the slight buff from advantage 10+

This new system heavily draws on stats and modifiers. It will feel more difficult in the early game when you don't have much of those. But it will open up quite significantly later on.
In my current game, several decades in, I am killing 3 people every 10 days, without mods or cheating of course.
This is a much better system than before, with a much higher ceiling and a much lower floor.

The new system favors an actual intrigue system where you need to choose your agents wisely (sometimes a good candidate can fill several agents slots, so you have to choose where you want him)

Meanwhile old system: "invite everyone you can and wait 12 months"

I'll gladly take the new system, even if its a bit harder and jank now.

I call ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on that one, with all due respect. The minimum scheme phase length you can achieve is 10 days and you need a minimum of 5 advantages to execute a scheme. You start a scheme with 2 advantage so AT BEST you can kill people every 30 days.

I might not have an absolute knowledge of every little thing of the game and i also dont own all DLCs, but i doubt that owning all DLCs makes the phase length go below the hard-cap.

How many advantages you start with is determined by your intrigue stat. It will actually tell you how it works If you move your cursor on your intrigue stat: every 5 intrigue above 15 gives +1 starting Advantages to intrigue schemes. My character has over 40 intrigue, but I still start with 4 advantages, so I guess the hard cap is 4, which makes sense otherwise I would be able to kill people non stop.
