City builder.. what happens when you die?
As a landless adventurer, I have built two cities to earn rent. What will happen to these when I die?

They stop paying you interest, and just function as normal holdings.

Yeah, I agree. What a waste of money. Wish it told you that before

You have to survive like 10 years to get your investment back, potentially even less if you invest in the lands of a ruler who has a lot of gold to further invest in the City. Being able to inherit that would be absurdly OP.

If you aren't a properly Landed "titled" noble... life sucks for you and your family. Kind of goes with the times. Without the permanence of "titled" contracts... contracts only last as long as the people who signed them. Rarely works in your favor.

However... I did rather enjoy the war I got myself in, where I got a ruler to back me in a war, got his troops, got his declaration, then 1 year before the war was over, he died... the contract was voided... but I still had his countries troops, still hand his countries declaration... . I finished the war without the contract, and without the obligation to serve him, I ended up a wealthy and independent ruler... . Of course, my late-contract-partner's son and heir wasn't too happy with me... but "sometimes" those "lifetime" non "titled" contracts can work in your favor (rarely, but it does make it extra fun when it does). :cozyspaceengineersc:
