Do you sit in the same place all the time? Yeah move....
Also, yeah, moving your camp is a good thing
I've played ck 2 for thousands of hours, perhaps that's why i'm getting tired of the traditional gameplay.
It does need more variety in contracts also the contracts does not seem to affect the world state apart from the mercenary contracts.
Landless works well as a setup for your playthrough. For example, I'd normally start as Rurik and spend a few decades raiding, amassing tons of gold and then doing a Varangian adventure to Kyiv, or maybe Frence depending on the mood.
And now, I have options:
- I can go grab myself some weird culture from India to hybridize with what I have at home
- I can travel around the world to write a book that gives a whopping +40% lifestyle xp to my heirs
- I can bypass the two farmlands slots in Kyiv normally becoming city and church upon going feudal by building castles there
And these are just the most obvious "scratching the surface" ones.
Wish we could play as an advisor or something instead of just wandering for contracts, you could get missions, similar to contracts and try to manage the liege's realm, getting rewards or punishment depending on how you do. I dunno if the game already has it, but joining the Varangian Guard would be a good early game for a viking playthrough.
At this point I don't think they're ever going to let us serve as knights. They've had 4 years to implement it. And I'm just as disappointed as you are.
