If you buy an Estate as an adventurer do you give up being an Adventurer?

You go from unlanded/adventuring to landed, thus becoming what you always were when playing the game prior to this DLC; a person managing a county

Yes, buying an Estate will replace your Adventurer title with a Noble Family title, which has a completely different set of mechanics attached to it.

If you would like to invest in land, but keep being an Adventurer, there is a Decision in your Decisions tab to build a holding, which will grant you a portion of its income once built, without tying you to the land.
