Has anyone figured out the ascension adventurer decision?

I had the mind to try to revive Shangqing Dao, and I was hoping to complete this decision as part of the new RtP dlc. I ended up in Tegla Kar, in Guge, and converted my liege. However the decision is still greyed out and saying I am neither at a Holy Site, which I am, and neither is Top Liege my faith, which he is or is claiming to be.

Going to try to migrate back to Ganzhou and try it again there, but weird how it doesn't seem to work here at least.

Anyway, has anyone successfully chosen this decision to become a missionary?

Haven't tried it myself, but looking at the script, there seems to be a "hidden" requirement that the county you're in also follows your faith. So you would need to wait for a landed ruler to convert the county you're in before you could use it for the decision.

Thanks! Looking back at Guge, he has started to convert some of his counties except the one with the holy site so far... XD

Maybe I'll go to all the other holy sites and convert their owners while I wait for one them to convert their site.

This might be a good way to get some of the more annoying/far holy sites for an unreformed pagan faith.

Edit: Yep, that did it! Makes sense, but would have been more helpful for the directions to be a little clearer.
