Any point to starting a legend as a Landless adventurer?
After my second pilgrimage I got the option to start a legend but I'm not sure how someone who's landless could promote or really benefit from it. Am I missing something?

There are a couple Legends that provide some excellent gear when completed.
It can be worth starting, sitting on, then finishing a legend for the right gear.

But the cost for running a legend can be steep for early camps.

But how would you even promote your legend when you don't have a court chronicler?

Poorly.
But you can complete a legend at minimum level after 5 years regardless.

Was wondering this too, I started the Swan Knight one and only realized after that there's virtually no way to spread it other than nicely asking rulers to.

I'd guess it would be by word of mouth from people you come across on the road and from the people you help etc.

Personally, I think the idea of tails of a wandering noble doing all these random deeds reaching across the lands sounds pretty dope. Like, you're simply a story people tell in taverns etc until you rock up and meet them someday!

The initial cost is cheaper than when you become a King, so 200 gold and then it is 4 gold per month. 4 gold per month for 5 years is 240 gold so in total it is 440 by the end of 5 years as an adventurer. Then you can just trigger it right away when you get land... or I guess you could try to upgrade it then. Start it 5 years before you plan to take land. If you have thousands of gold as an adventurer, you may as well.
