And when did being gay or bisexual prevent you having heirs? Plenty of prominent kings in European history had 'questionable' relationships with men behind closed doors whilst also maintaining public marriages and grooming heirs.
It would be weirder if homosexual and all other shades of sexuality didn't exist in the game. And as to the OP why does a character being gay mean your being 'lectured' like it literally exists in CK2 plenty of characters end up gay it doesn't pause the game and force you to read lectures on the subject its just a thing your character is.
I'd suggest you might want to gather up some more personal fortitude if this sort of thing bothers you.
For reference Ancient Greece having young gay lovers was not only common but considered utterly normal.

The idea that a mere 1000 odd years later homosexuality somehow ceased existing is silly
Then don't play as one. But just so you know, it's historical. They are writings of homosexuality, bisexuality, and all kinds of sexuality in the medieval times. It might come as a shock to you, but people were much, much more open sexually than we are today.
Greeks had boy sex slave, it was just a normal thing to have, until they reached adulthood. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pederasty_in_ancient_Greece
Probably going to be the same thing here, but for some reason marketing people believe that it makes a great point to sell your game on.
No it wasn't it fired and informed a number or plots and story lines it wasn't only a modifier at all.
Nothing weird here. As for the homosexual trait, it is actually somewhat rare in CK2 and tbh it is great and diverse. It also mimics perfect, since while you do get lower fertility, you get more attactive as well.. (plenty of people even now, but even more so back in the days, played on both horses for love, making kids were something else)
Then you also have to understand that they included Janism in the game and pretty much put on alot more detailed approach on some of the religions like that or even cultural stuff.
I know that homosexuality existed, and I never minded the trait in CKII
But the way they are marketing this makes me a little nervous, I just hope we won't see transexual nobles or same sex marriages and that all that sort of stuff in the name of diversity
Most likely some journalist did a deus vault.
So why wouldn't bisexuality be a thing..
