BUT: There is no white/grey in the flag of the Holy Roman Empire. The white/ grey of the HRE is coming from the Prussian/German Reich flag of the 19th/20th Century. The HRE flag on the other hand is a black eagle on a yellow/golden field. White/Grey is not even part of that flag. So that's why the color of the HRE should also be yellow/golden.
and why is noone else complaining or even bothered by this. So many mysteries in this world...
do you have a specific tone of yellow you would like to see.
I like the bright white HRE it's so bright, vibrant and very bold you know who it is when you see it on the map.
can't imagine what a yellow would look like.
Yeah they can easily use different shades of colors, and they do that with other countries: For example hungary is more pink than red, even though the countries flag uses a different kind of red. You can also see other countries that are yellow in the current CK3 map: Scotland, parts of Iberia and Khazaria. And they are pleasant to look at, definitely more pleasant than grey in my opinion.
I would use a similar color like they are using right now for khazaria, you can see it on a screenshot here:

So basically very soft and pale, more towards white than dark and brown..
