Can you join the Varangian Guard as an adventurer viking?

Just curious if it's possible. Would like to walk from Scotland to Constinople join the Varangian Guard, somehow also form the danelaw and eventually get an administrative government from byzatine empire.

Not sure if all that is possible or the proper order to do all that, dont think u can even form danelaw once you go past tribal can't remember

No but your followers can and when they come back they will be a Varangian Guard.

Edit question 2 you don't need to get administrative goverment type from Byzatine empire you can get it from the decisions menu when you reach the right time either by joining as a vassel to administrative realm or converting to an administrative goverment as a decision. I think a Empire is required to form an adminstrative goverment at the top, but kingdoms can convert once inside the administrative realm and if the Administrative realm is destroyed you have 3 options stay as administrative, change to clan, or Feudal.

I wanted to create a custom Kingdom and custom Empire, so if i create a custom empire I can convert to admin after? even if its in like the UK

I just finished Rags to Riches to Rags to riches in Britannia. I can confirm you will get the Decision to Adopt Admin. Govt.
Didnt dare hit it until the achieve fired since i have no clue wtf im doing w/that mechanic & i never save my game. Rags to Rags takes a few generations
When i did finally click it-to get Epic Paperwork achieve-there was a cascade of Estates and other pop-ups.

Its an Empire Major Decision, yes. You'll need all your powerful vassals at +50 approval.

kingdom can get it if your culture has the right ethos iirc, otherwise its an empire only decision.
