Multiplayer and DLCs

Does everyone need to have DLCs as the host does to be able to join a multiplayer session? I enabled every single DLC except friends or foes. My friend who just bought the game without any DLC cannot join my game, with msg just saying cannot join or the game can not be found. But I can join his session.

Publisher says host is the DLC for everybody:

DLC are shared by the host (and only the host)

Check the checksum (you can see it on main screen), if it's not the same its probably due to mod or different update

The only issues I have seen for this is if someone has some sort a mod and the other doesn't. (For example, someone with a custom crest picture that cannot show up for other players without the file.)

Double check the checksums and that you are on the same update version.
