How do I switch to a different country mid-game?

Enable debug/edit.

Switch Characters is now a button at the 'Resume - Exit Game' screen and you can switch around (and back) whenever you wish.

Might even be there without debug/edit... I've had that enabled for so long I don't even remember if it it there by default. :)

you can do it without debug by just pressing escape and choosing switch character
