I also have mods that remove the child cap, so if I play as a man it's not unusual for him to have several dozen children by the time he dies at eighty. When the first of his children begin to die of old age, that would cause literally all of them to go down, and then many of their children would start to die of stress. It's just little balance things like this that would be fairly easy to patch, and I don't know why Paradox doesn't do so.
