When you unite a large empire in a game, it becomes very boring to play, the developers have not changed this point, I did it 3 years ago and did it now, nothing has changed!!?

I am pleased to see that my empire leaves a mark on history in the form of influence on the culture, religion of a large part of the world, like Alexander the Great, I think that this is not encouraged in any way upsets me

Well, you ARE encouraged to spread your culture and faith to gain all the associated bonuses throughout your realm, like easier vassal management, or economical benefits.

But I agree with the spirit of your message. Playing a vassal count or duke is meaningful because you get coucillor bonuses and regency. Playing a king is also meaningful as you get royal court. Emperor, though? Kind of no reason to go for it as it doesn't add any new content beyond what you had access to anyway. And in terms of renown it's actually better to have 5 independent kings of your dynasty than a single emperor. And it's harder to meet legitimacy requirements. And managing vassal-kings is a huge PITA. So right now it feels like the game doesn't really want you to become an emperor after all. Or it's something that is viewed as an endgame sort of achievement after which the player is supposed to consider the game as won and start a new one.

Tnx for this, good advice for better gameplay:steamthumbsup:

Sure thing, give it a try. Domain restrictions actually *seem* to make the game more peaceful all around. Everyone's power is more balanced, and you actually kind of need to focus on making your vassals happy, so there's less opportunity to give in to the temptation to paint the map, as the focus is more inward.
Did this recently. United Persia as Zoroastrian Saoshyant Character and...

... it wasnt very fun after I was done with it. I had high house unit which meant successions were smooth and routinely I found myself returning to just wars of expansion to keep my interest alive.

I think part of it is that theres alot of really fun and tense moments when your a tribal fighting over scraps of land in England, or a vassal desperately trying to claim the throne of their liege. And the mechanics even support that. Like the House Feud mechanic which is so genius and fun but its hardly ever utilized.

I think there needs to be more added to Empire diplomacy and involvement. Heres some ideas.

Have actual Empire rivalries. The Ottomans and the Habsburgs are an excellent example of Imperial rivalries here. When I play as Byzantium or Persia and I am literally on the border on a hostile rival empire.................... nothing changes. They are just a blob. Either they beat me in a fight or I beat them. Adding actual inter-empire rivalries and mechanics to go with that sound like an actual blast.

Give some weight to having Imperial Blood. Have the children of your dynasty be super important and give unique empire tournaments for the hand of one of your children. Or have suitors lining up to try and marry into the family. Having people trying to marry into your family to try and manipulate the Imperial family around to doing their bidding sounds genius.

This is more vague but there needs to be something that actually pulls you into it and keeps your mind occupied. Part of the reason wars are the de facto option is because they are constant and keep you engaged. Something needs to be going on on screen otherwise your just sitting there collecting gold and watching your character age. This is much more fun when your a count, duke or even a king sometimes because your in a constant state of jousting with your rivals and securing your throne and position. But once youve hit Empire... the challenge is gone and at that point your just blobbing.

I think they need to expand the gameplay not only for empires, but also for larger kingdoms. So it’s possible that we will see improvements to the game, I think the things that you described are also possible, but at the same time they need to rework holy wars(
