I turned it off in the settings (no achievements) and I am still being struck by plagues.

Game is broken until this is fixed.

Just install a mod. "No more plagues" worked for me. If you install mid game, you need to wait for the existing ones to peter out. but then, well, no more plagues....

Some of us do dont want to turn off achievements but also do not have 100 hours a week to play games. I work and have a family, so game time is a luxury. If I have 3 plagues back to back to back that wipe out my heirs and end my game...that is a week of gaming gone. Not a good feeling, and that is point of gaming. So will not play again and look up and see if it changes.

Tbh that's an actual good experience, there was a chance you could lose, and you did, you can learn from it and improve on your next try.

A truly wasted experience would be spending hours in a match just to get to a mindnumbingly boring endgame, this always makes you question why you're even wasting time with unchallenging games.

why do u care about achievements? do u think girls see those in your profile and think that u are the coolest boy in your moms basement or what?

Contributing my annoyance a lot on this topic, but another PS is the blatant unfairness of 'landmine' plagues that blow up first and foremost right under your capital without warning, spreading from nowhere else first. There is absolutely nothing you can do to isolate the capital, etc. Yes, I do just savescum these out of existence - my 'eff you' to CKIII's not at all 'random' RNG!
