Clans by default don't get elections unless their culture starts with one, and I'm not sure which off the top of my head even do. The first succession is usually very messy and the best advice I can give is to be very aggressive but don't take more than 49% of another kingdom. Also it's very helpful as a Muslim to be virtuous so you can revoke titles from your degenerate vassals that you can give to your kids.

But yes, even if you manage an early harmonious house, you will always be at risk of losing your highest equal title. The trade off with clans is potential early game high partition and very stable long reigns for chaotic successions and house volatility.

TLDR; Rush empire title and be bored for the rest of the game, game the succession through dejure considerations and vassal punishment, or embrace the chaos that comes with succession wars.

It is a very particular form of government once you reach 1 empire (e.g. Spanish) then it becomes, I won't say boring but almost... well
searching and testing I have seen that if by chance you inherit a feudal kingdom (I don't know if also with duchies) (e.g. Navarre which tends to become Muslim) it becomes feudal in any case also on the other title

Yeah if you play in Iberia a lot, then Clans won't even be that special. Catalan, Basque, and maybe Argonese iirc all have visgothic codes. So there are some feudals that can also get early high partition. If you like being a benevolent ruler with imamic aspirations and/or a stone-cold administrator of justice, it can be pretty fun rp.

Honestly though, all the government types are pretty boring after a while. Feudal = make election laws, kill my brothers. Tribal = raid and make resources meaningless. Clan = how can I make my realm less inbred.

Needless to say, really looking forward to Roads of Power and getting the new Administrative government.

It would also open up the ability for other RPs to impersonate or change towards a republic (e.g. Venice) and perhaps theocracies. in ck3 it was possible

Anyway, sorry to derail your thread like that. I'm curious myself now on how to conquer the world with Islam. I'm not a world conqueror at all, game gets way too boring well before vassal limits become a thing for me usually. I can see a coalition of empires working rather easily, but not sure how one would go about painting the map as one colour as a clan.

I assume with Legends of the Dead, being able to press multiple kingdom titles per lifetime would be easiest. Not sure how you would hold it all though.

Edit: Ah, kinslaying might become a requirement once you start working on the next empire title.

Sorry to double post, but the easiest way to manage multiple kingdom/empires titles as a clan is through the cultural tradition "Jirga". It allows Tribal elective on those titles for clans. Pashtun culture in Ghaznavid is one such culture that has it.
