Crusader Kings III

Crusader Kings III

Statistiche:
Are the plagues balanced now?
When the newest DLC came out I saw a lot of complaints about how often they happen and that sometimes it was either overwhelming or underwhelming. Is it all good now or still wait a bit?
Messaggio originale di Razorblade:
Imo, people's issue with plagues are pretty exaggerated. It's a bit annoying to get a popup every plague, even when it's on the extremes of my empire and will never reasonably reach my territorial core, but an extra couple of popups every few years isn't really a huge deal.

As for lethality, I haven't had any major issues with it being lacking or too severe. Yeah, sometimes Measles decimate several of my kids, and I have to play as my brother instead of my perfect heir I was cultivating. That's the intent, though; your plans don't always turn out perfectly. When you cultivate and spread your dynasty, as you should be doing anyway, you're never going to lose a game because of bad RNG.

If I had to guess, I would say there's a large overlap between the "nerf plagues" and "disinherit all children but your main heir" crowd. Bunch of minmaxers who should either learn to handle succession, or just download the "Primogeniture from the start" mod and stop trying to lobby the devs to ruin everyone else's experience by making the game even easier than it already is.

Next patch sounds like a good compromise for everyone. People who don't want them can turn plagues off without mods. And people who do like them won't be spammed by those Alms events. Also reducing plague events to plagued counties in your domain or surrounding your capital.

Not to mention that other rulers will now actively lock down their lands etc, rather than do nothing and let it spread.

I like the upcoming changes to the plagues, they've definitely listened and ironed some things out
Best "fix" is to make the hospices effect limited to the barony they're built in...

So instead of needing 3-4 total hospices + monasteries per county, you'll need them in every single barony.

Just more proof how the current CK3 dev team has checked out from reality.

Not sure how you can release a DLC which only adds 100% negative stuff to the game. And then not get fired for incompetency.

The diseases are one thing; but having to build your empire domain full of hospices just to reduce or eventually negate the impact is absolutely dumb.

You can't even get ironman with less plague

Yes I do.

I see your point, but I think they might have just tried addressing county stacking modifiers (as in hospices in every barony already), without thinking too hard about it. Everyone that was already spamming hospices won't really be affected except for it not stacking anymore.
people moaning about the plagues lmao i like them i turn them up for multiplayer to kill off characters so the game lags less due to large families
NO it not fix the NPC do not hire doctors either that makes it worse. They like the plagues because of computer performance.
I'm playing in italy and there is a plague nearly all the time. Usually lose a kid or two every plague. Pretty annoying.
The stress 'death cascade' was always a problem, but plagues really made it more prominent. Half your children will die of a plague, and the other half will be 16-year-old drunken flagellants ready to off themselves the next time an acquaintance dies.

And I don't like the real-world stress of trying to figure out a way to reduce the in-game stress of non-playable characters, because the options are extremely limited. (let's just say non-existent, especially for child NPCs).

We'll see what the patch brings.
