Seriously though if you wan to be the European ruler that brings diversity to Europe the best part of a thousand years early why not do it in the game for yourself? I haven't seen any racial opinion modifiers in the game so race is kind of a non-thing in this game a-side from appearance and historical accuracy of what races of people actually lived where.
Not completely true tho.
Granted, less people overall roamed around the (known) world but there were plenty who did.
Being traders and/or highly skilled craftsmen.
Let's not forget the monks and priests, soldiers/mercenaries, or part of some entourage/servant.
Yes, i started 867 conquered the western african coast, northern iberia and the Irish island. We, Baranis people, shall rule the world.
They also weren't nobles. The overwhelming majority of characters in this game are nobility of some sort, even lowborn are from minor houses.
No just a troll. Check their post history... For example there is one where the OP tells n-words to go back to Africa ;)
It was a lot more common then you make it out to be, tho it was by far not as usual as nowadays.
That's true, great observation Aurian.
Not really, nor it was in the Renaissance/Modern Age.
Not in the 9th to 15th century. It slowly became more common from the 18th century onward - with the discovery of America, large scale resettlement and the slave trade. Common folk who were not settlers or slaves had little to no reason (and no funds) to just mingle with locals in a faraway nation, not to mention that racism and xenophobia were extremely common and the laws in Europe wouldn't have protected foreigners (except for a very tiny elite) from persecution and robbery.
