I think the loyal trait helps too.
Making your Wife, your Soulmate only prevents her from cheating through Seduction Scheme, because of a -500 Modifier, but not through Events.
Oh, I forgot, unmarried female Characters with a Dynasty will nearly always start Seduction Schemes, even they are Chaste.
I tested with female Grandmasters of my custom Faith, the only things, which prevents female Characters with a Dynasty from starting Seduction Schemes, is the celibate Trait or they have married someone.
Avoid having wife with following traits: Lustful (yeah good luck with that she will shack everything moving with two legs), arbitrary, deceitful.
"Good" traits: Just, Honest, Chaste.
Worst offender are going to be mayors their sole purpose is to lay a egg in your cuckoo nest either by trying to seduce your wife (which usually is not option because soulmate status) if that fails then your son's wives (which always success) and then your daughters.
Your sons NEVER soulmate their spouses those lazy bastards.
My custom child characters are always good looking though
And they should have the same Personality Traits, this increases the chances, that they become Soulmates.
When choosing a Wife, you want to choose somebody that above all else has a descriptive title that is either honorable, loyal or faithful.
It doesn't matter how powerful the Marriage alliance is, or their talent level, you never choose a Spouse that has descriptive factors that are along the lines of:
Irrational, Antagonist, Evil, Irrational, Villian etc....
Instead you try your best to choose Spouses that have personalities that are something like:
Honorable Follower, Compassionate, Paragon, Empath, Content etc...
First start with getting somebody with an agreeable personality, then look at other factors: age, talent levels in specific categories, marriage power etc ...
That is why, spending a lot of time in screening 'candidates' for Marriage proposals, Vassals assignments, Councilship positions, etc... is tough but provides excellent value over the long-term.
Despite all of that I had some fun and memorable moments like the last wife, who even gas-lighted me after confronting her (who writes these dialogs? xD). After she gave birth to a child that had genetic traits that made no sense at all my spymaster unveiled her secret: It was the 60 year old lustful pervert of an emperor. She found peace in the dungeon having a regret trait.
