When does the Pope announce the First Crusade in the 1066 start date?
I play pretty much exclusively in the 1066 start date so I don't know if it's different if you start in 867, but when does the Pope typically announce the First Crusade if you start in 1066?

For me, he mostly announce the start of the Crusade as soon a I took Rome from him, so around 770 - 780.

But then he always goes crusading the Slavic People or England, he probably don't want Rome back.

It depends on the conditions of the Catholic Faith in your Campaign.

If Rome is not hold by an Catholic Ruler, the Pope can announce the start of Crusades nearly instantly.
