I've found that eventually with a large enough house full of rulers, you'll end up with 0 or thereabouts from constant artefact demands, challenges for house leadership, imprisonments, assassinations, hostage exchanges, etc. and it just seems kinda inevitable.
The longer I played the more I thought this might be the case. But they make it sound like it might influence AI so I wasn't sure.
Harmonious says "members of this house do what they can to stand united" yet I'm always ending dynasty wars trying to keep peace in an empire.
One issue I'm having is the sheer number of divorces happening (i'm thinking about switching religions). I've actually started granting titles to non-house members and revoking titles (which also reduces unity but maybe it'll pay off in the long run) to try to reduce the number of opportunities to divorce. Although I think it would be kind of stale if the AI was not allowed to influence things at all. Like if it got to fully harmonious and just stayed there, so I think it's meant to fluctuate.
There are some benefits to having low unity as well so I tend to roll with the punches (and the kicks, and the body-slams).
This is good to know. I don't think there's any cadet branch so it's not a problem yet.
If divorces are that much of an issue a different religion is probably the right answer. I agree that if the house got along perfectly it'd be stale. But I've usually got 2-3 wars between my house almost at all times. The only way to keep unity up was to declare unify the house wars and end dynasty wars. But I think I've decided unity isn't worth messing with.
