It's kinda sad that they lumped together Fornication and Adultery
Historically Fornication was mostly accepted, and only shunned for women in some communities while Adultery was seen as very bad and even criminal.
Is there any mod that allows something like that for betther historism?

They didn't lump it.
If you're married, you adulterate.

If you're not married, you fornicate.
But in Doctrines, both count as Adultery and lead to Piousness loss/cause for imprisonment, that's the point, no?
Basically if I sleep with an unmarried woman as a king I have to pardon her bc my faith has "criminal" in female adultery.

I always set it up to where the female is a criminal and the male is OK for doing it. Or choose a religion that is already like that. I also like ones where witchcraft is accepted.

No? Doctrines are different depending on faith and tennants. They're still treated differently.
In doctrines both adultery AND fornication are either allowed, shunned or criminal under the doctrine "adultery".

Yeah, but I would have liked the version, where unmarried sex is okay/shunned at most, but married is shunned/criminal lol

Look at the Fornication / Adultery Doctrine Split mod by Dallan on workshop and see if that works for you. It might be outdated though.

I misunderstood you.
See the terminology "shunned or criminal."
Shunned is a reputation debuff.
Criminal is the ole ball and chain.

In my mind, shunned and criminal are what are different (and still treated differently.
