will the rest of Asia ever be added to the map?

rn the map stops at about Tibet and Myanmar but in a future dlc will the rest of East asia like China, Japan, Korea, Indochina, Indonesia, etc be added? seems odd to exclude these area's from the game. ik there's mods that add them but will they ever be offically added by paradox.

There are no hard plans for it, but it's a possibility. The devs have admitted to being open to the idea, but it is not a priority at all.

We already know every DLC coming out this year, and East Asia is obviously not on that list. As future years, it's possible, but I wouldn't expect it any time soon.

well duh, I don't need it rn they'res bigger things to do on the existing map. but atleast have some plans to add those regions at some point or another, likely once the rest of the map is properly fleshed out. It would probably be a good thing for the game, more content and replayability. tho ofcourse the present issues should take priority.

The whole point of the franchise was originally to depict the feudal system in Europe. They have expanded and at one time said they would never add unlanded.

I have a post from years ago, speculating they would add unlanded. Particularly after they added the travel system, I was sure then.

So if we see the infrastructure. China alone is it's own ecosystem with a VERY distinct governance concept, with many other smaller systems (the Mandate of heaven.)

then again, The Byzantine government system being added starts to set up those ideas. Governors, Wardens of the state, etc. The first concepts of the a nation.

I would much rather they complete the Nomads and India's caste system. I would also love to see the Khazar empire's Diarchy System.

i remember one guy from early days of ck3
claiming there will be no artifact in this game
cuz dev say so. and look what they added

i dont think they will add eastern asia as playable area
but.. since china is big consumer market with lots of potential
maybe they will add asia in some point as 100$ DLC
but who knows

They have discussed it before and in one of the developer diaries it was mentioned; they would like to do it but there are no plans to do so.

It's unlikely it will happen and if it does, it's wayyyy down the line after exhausting DLC for the current map.

For now though, there are multiple great mods that add East Asia

If you see their roadmap, and speculate on the map right at where that part of Asia should be, and see what developers have publicly said.

Yes, there's a nonzero chance we'll see an Asian expansion.

In the picture you have the Expanding map.

In dev diary 109 it says

I think it’s quite obvious that I eventually want to Expand the Map, to include the rest of the Old World.

I'm expecting at least an expanding map to China.

And you will still not be able, to play Unlanded Characters with RoP - Roads of Power, they only add an Option to play an landless Adventurer and the Head of an Imperial Family in the Byzantine Empire, but they will not allow you to play any Unlanded Character.

Which, I think will both have an temporary Title or in the case of the Family Heads, they will probably work the same, as an HoF Title.
