I upgraded my PC not long ago, but even before that it was a 7/8 year old system capable of playing CK3 at max settings.
Simply upgrade. This game is mostly CPU intensive, so that would be best to upgrade first. Also make sure the game is installed on an SSD for faster loading, that's all that matters for loading really.
As for crashing, try just playing without the mods and see how stable your game is first. After that it could just be your CPU needing upgraded as mentioned, but you also mentioned mods. It could be that the mods are buggy, not meant to work together or you're using the mods on the wrong version of the game. Basically, if you use mods then you kinda waive all rights to complain about performance or stability.
"Minor mods" and "crashes daily" though
Thanks for your answers just got a new PC day before yesterday. Now the game runs beautifully with high graphic setup and even more mods. Game's startup time went from several minutes to 20 seconds. Haven't had a single crash with about 10 hours of gaming.
New PC has i5-13400F / 16 GB / RTX4060 / 516G SSD memory(last one had it as well). Got it at just 950e. Anything more powerful would have cost more than 1200e.
