Form Sultanate of Rum as Christian king?
Hi! Does anyone have an idea why I can't form the Sultanate of Rum? I thought I fulfill all of the requirements:
- Adult
- At peace
- Control the region of Asia Minor
- Realm capital is in Asia Minor
- Apostolic religion but Turkic heritage (Oghuz)
- Level of fame Exalted among Men
- Paragon of Virtue
- Independent
- Have 3 kingdom titles (Sultanate of Anadolu, Sultanate of Pontus, Sultanate of Armenia)
I can't even see the decision. Is it because I'm Christian? Is it because I have multiple kingdom titles? Ideas greatly appreciated.

Thanks, what I don't understand is that the Wiki specifically states that you cannot be a non-independent king: https://ck3.paradoxwikis.com/Decisions#Form_the_Sultanate_of_Rum
My bad, I misread the wiki. Checking the game's Decision files, the actual issue is that you are Christian. While the Decision is technically valid for a Turkic Christian ruler, it will not be shown at all to rulers of a Christian faith.

Or as the code in 80_major_decisions_roman.txt puts it:
"is_shown = { NOT = { faith.religion = religion:christianity_religion} }"

The wiki does not give is_shown requirements, only is_valid requirements, so you sometimes run into issues like this if you only look at the wiki and not the game's files.

You cannot be an independent King. You must either be a Count, Duke, or vassalized King.

Swear Fealty to a non-Byzantine Empire, and the decision should reappear, I believe.

Oh, I see it now, thank you. It's odd though the Wiki doesn't mention it. Quite a few hours of gameplay might go to waste...

So the solution in this specific case would be to convert out of Christianity, right?

Correct. Any non-Christian faith should be fine, as long as your culture has Turkic Heritage.
