DLC price is too high.
I have all the dlcs of this game, but sadly this time the price is too high. Maybe, just as me, many other customers will do the same. But I hope that I am wrong, cause these devs did a great job with this game and it's sad that their hard work goes to waste. It's like making a paint that only few people will see.

I agree the pricing is too steep.

For what you pay you don't get much. I feel the pricing should've been like 50% of the current price at max, probably even lower.
We're talking about DLCs, not a brand new game.

Hopefully there will be a decent sale in the future.. might get it then.

Yeah that new price increase across all their titles is just way too much. Still gonna have to buy it cause of just how good those new dlcs sound but damn

"Chapter 3" is just as expensive as the base game, lol wtf

Hmmmm.... Seems like PDX is trying to recoup some lost money from previous disasters... Nope too expensive for what it is.

So?

Tencent bought 10% of Paradox. Are any of you surprised? I'm not. At least I got what I have on sale.
Luna Feb 6, 2024 @ 12:35pm
Yeap. The price is too high. I have most of the Paradox games and DLCs for them. For now,
I'm stopping buying new content, even on sales.

Generally, if you pay $10 and get 8 slices of pizza, you'd expect 10 more $ to get you 8 more slices of pizza. Not 1 or 2. So, when you pay $10 and get your pie of pizza, and the pizzeria turns around and says, "Pay me the same amount and I'll give you 2 more slices", it sounds ridiculous. To me, anyway. And to the guy you're responding to, clearly.

I thought it was just me, but the price has gone up like double in my region compared to Chapter 2?
Jet Feb 6, 2024 @ 1:10pm
we are getting two big dlc packs instead of just one and a medium + small, so it makes sense it costs more.
Bonez Feb 6, 2024 @ 1:18pm
yeah holy cow... I gladly would have bought this if it was maybe half the price they've posted... as it stands though, for the content they're offering, I can't justify this price... WAY too high, and PDX stuff was already pretty high

as reference, if I didn't already own CK3 and "chapter 2" (which isn't available on its own anymore), you'd have to pay 193 CAD just to get the base game up to chapter 2, before you even consider buying chapter 3... That's kinda disgusting... I didn't even pay that for base + C1 + C2...

This is my concern main concern with the price hike. The assumption is two large DLCs and a small, but we have yet to really see what a "core expansion" truly offers until we have one.

While I want to believe that it will feel like two T&Ts this year, I am skeptical since it was given its own class rather than just being another "major expansion."

It seems like they changed direction and are making a whole Thema DLC this year.
So everything ties into one and other, how huge the DLC would be is only up to speculation.

Plague ties into killing off Courtiers and Rulers late game cause people with lesser systems couldn't handle all the courtiers. let alone what comes next landless AI
(But will worry about it later once Legends of Death is released, cause not playable Baronies and defaulting back to count means they are using the old system of landless counts, when it will be better to create a NEW rank between Courtiers and Barons. call it adventurers or something rank, that gives them a new Rank System to work from, without having it tied to count tier system, side bonus makes the baron tier also playable if player character has that underlying rank, but again this is pure speculation)

So basically then comes Road to Power DLC, with the landless system and byzantium improvements and estates. that is the big one.

and then the event pack Wandering Nobles to round out all the landless play with flavor and purpose.

This year all the DLC ties into one and other, like one HUGE expansion. unlike last 2 years.

Maybe that's more worth it when you put it that way? Regardless I'm still gonna wait to see what all the DLC encompasses before dropping the full price of the game (again) on this dlc pack...
