Which DLC´s are must haves?
Greetings,

I started with the game a few days ago and now I wonder, which DLC´s are no brainers/must haves, which are not neccessary.

And if its worth to wait for a sale? In which range are the discounts in the past?

Thx for your help

I would otherwise look into getting the major expansions, then flavor and events.

Major:
Tours and Tournaments- just more stuff overall, even though you get the base features free. The stuff this adds on is just worth it.

Royal Court- The two biggest things are being able to modular create and change cultures and hybridize (this is done naturally without the DLC I assume.) and the royal court, which is nice and have a ruler feel when you do the stuff with it...thing is I pend most my time under king level. Which is when you get your court room and those dynamics.

both great, but one is more universal where the other enhances higher rank play and allows you changing up cultures more rather then just the AI.

Chapter 3 DLC is just going to be top dog though. We don't know what aspects are free, but Roads to power will definitely be the #1 but in the future (we have like September for that, though.)

Flavor:
Your choice of where you like to be. I enjoyed The viking and Middle east one. The spain one is cool, but I just rarely play there.

Event packs:
The Ward and Warden event pack is the most useful of the events, and add some things to make being a young person or even rising your offspring more detailed and you can do some things to encourage outcomes.

Must haves are the expensive ones... and the others are so cheap you'll end up getting them anyways. You'll want to wait for a sale in all cases, regardless. (especially when buying the base game @ 11 bucks)

Anyways.... Tour and Tournaments is the one that feels most like dropped content that should have been included with the game to begin with. And Royal Court mostly gives you boosts and penalties with some added eyecandy. And umm... is the only way to activate Hybrid Cultures, (which is basically an easier way to get Culture Traditions, but not something I'd really say is worth paying 30 bucks for only that reason. So... it's "must have" status is kinda "shrug" I guess.)

Primarily, the Royal Court DLC. Second, Tours and Tournaments. Indicated by them being the only two fully priced expansions.

The rest are just flavour if you play in their respective regions a lot.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
