How to marry Urraca with El Cid?

I want that feat with a Cid's heir ruling Valencia. I've been able to assassinate king Alfonso before Sancho conquers him, but then... I don't find El Cid in any place. He is not available to marry, and NEITHER is one of the counts of king Sancho. As if El Cid didn't exist.

How to resolve it? Is there any way to do it without betraying Sancho? As far as I've read, that thing about Urraca and Alfonso being lovers was mentioned as first time quite after their deaths, so it's probably a false rumour, and the only 100% is that she taked care of him when a child, so she loved him... but as an elder sister.

In my tries I've imagined that she was mad because he rejected her as his regent just because she had finished their pecaminous relation.

Finally I've read an even easier alternative: To create a personalized character. XD

I've made her based in Doña Jimena. I would have prefered Urraca to use a default character, but 'Doña Jimena' doesn't require to kill a brother who Urraca really apreciated in real history. And it's much easier than trying multiple murders.

I got the achievement without even knowing about it when starting as Sancho. El Cid is already Sancho's friend so I role played them growing even closer becoming best friends as we fought in wars against my brothers together. I gave him some land and eventually married my first son to his first daughter. El Cid didn't have any sons so in the next generation his line and mine were the same. Over the generations I slowly took over the rest of Spain and when I conquered Valencia I got the achievement.

Everything was great with my personalized character until Alfonso got my kingdom. He had a similar army, but spotted a chance when I was weakened by another war. :(

So now I have started another game using Dean's idea. With Sancho I've conquered Leon and Galicia. For the moment I have a son and a daughter, while he has only a son. So my plan:

a) Marry my son with his daughter, if she is ever born.

b) Just in case a) fails, I'm trying to marry my daughter with his son. But Cid is reluctant because I want a Matrilineal wedding (maybe I have given him a count too soon), so I am saving money to offer him a Great Wedding (I'll also add a hook for great friendship).


P.D: Let's imagine my sons die and my girl becames my heir. Also Cid have male sons. Would my matrilineal girl get the achievment?

Had the Cid's daughter that you married with your grandson any male brother? If he hadn't then she was the heir because christian women could be heirs if no male brother.

If she had, then great, much easier for me. :)

Well, finally Cid's grandson has taken Valencia Kingdom title, and no achivement. Could it be that he was not his direct heir, just his heir's heir? I am almost sure that I selected Ironman Mode.

did you Marry El Cid with a custom character ? the achievement won't work with one.

when i did it recently, i just used Urraca and broke up with her brother, then used guaranteed Councillor to become spymaster and murdered the weaker brothers. played chess with El Cid's liege and eventually had enough opinion to marry him.

Finally Cid married with Urraca. I assassinated all my brothers as if there was no tomorrow. Once a queen, Cid is available to marry me (not completely sure about if it was in this try, but I'd say that everybody knew that I was Sancho's killer, so he should do it XD).

I'll try to not to ♥♥♥♥ it up while I try to unite Spain before someone destroy my kingdom, or my land is divided by several sons. XD
