Suggested Starts In India/Tibet?

I was just wondering if anyone has any unique or fun starts they like to play in the India/Tibet region of either start date? I usually do campaigns in Central Europe/Italy (or occasionally Persia with the recent DLC) and I have to admit I'm kind of bored and looking for somewhere to play on the other side of the map. I can probably count on one hand the amount of times I played in India/Tibet, so I want to try different decisions, faiths, cultures, etc.

I have every DLC, earned every single achievement in CK3 (besides Ahab), and like to play as underdogs in this game and roleplay as them through reaching overarching goals. For example, my last campaign started as the house of Welf in 1066 in the Bavarian region to form the Kingdom of Switzerland and the Archduchy of Austria.

If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to post them. Thank you for reading this and your time.

I've had the most fun with Mon (Burmese), I don't like the Han because they don't have mountain traditions and they're surrounded by Tibet (mountainous) and Tibetans (a people traditionally in said mountains)

The Tamil golden age (south of India, I think Chola is in the game) also happens in this time period so playing as them can also be a fun continuation of history.

I don't really have any suggestions for Tibet because I hate mountains.

I'll keep those ideas in mind, I found an interesting one county nestorian and sogdian ruler in the 867 start date underneath the Qocho dynasty. Seems like an interesting start since the ruler is under a duke who is in turn under a king with a mixture of different cultures and religions. Just what I was looking for. I'll see if I can create some small christian/buddhist/muslim kingdom between the Han chinese, steppe horse lords, and tibetans. Thanks for all the help!

There's a huge section of farmland in northwest India near Pakistan. I usually use that as my base of operations when I invade the region.

Also try it with vikings (Asatru). As most of us know, Feudal Asatru is S+ tier in general, and the religions of India actually allow you to intermarry. You will dominate the region within a few decades.

Tibet is absolutely huge, mostly mountains, a hundred realms owning territory across different de jure titles. Not recommended, at least until there's a DLC adding more mechanics and flavor to the region.

The EPE mod adds quite some visual fluff to the general east asian region; so with that mod it could be fun to do some Han custom empire originating from Xia in 867. Ignore Tibet, just take Qocho and Khotan and whatever else you need for the empire decision.

The faith options aren't all that great though; Taosim allows Holy Wars but heavily suffers from Equal succession, while Mahayana Buddhism is Male Dominated but doesn't allow Holy Wars.

What I suggest that u can create a new Character in Tibet order Indian, for example a Caucasian believes in Catholic. Than conquer and develop there, spread the faith and change the culture. It is much fun for me, because i truly dont know the history in South Asia only that way will give me strong sense of Substitution

This part is fun for me as an American because I'm not emotionally invested in any of these states. "Bosnia? Whatever, you're part of the great blob empire now!"

I found it fun to try to recreate the Beta-Israel achievement, but from India (I think a reddit forum called it "Beta-India" as an unofficial achieve).

There are no landed Malabarist rulers in India, but there are a lot of nicely-statted potential spouses and the faith has a holy site in Kerala. It could serve as a fun RP launch-point to convert to Malabarism and try to spread it throughout Hindu/Jainist/Buddhist India... maybe even taking back the Holy Land with your MASSIVE ELEPHANT ARMY.

So much fun to curb-stomp crusades with those things.

Sorry for derailing but which tribes? It's not quite my area of speciality but I'm struggling to think of a single pacifistic tribe the Romans conquered.

Sure, so then how do you know they existed? Generally, even in modern times, pacifism's quite a rare ideology that doesn't govern states. Where you do find pacifists, they're usually either a religious class that adheres to a non-violent dogma more closely than the general population (say some denominations of Christian/Buddhist monks) or they're a separate religious group forming a minority within a society (Jains in India, some Christian groups etc.). EDIT: Or an educated elite, typically the minority.

I vaguely remember seeing something about it on History channel after Ancient Aliens, or something like that.
