it's more like a turn based M&B, but it's quite nice.
The closest games you'd find in terms of achievements are obviously going to be the other Paradox games.
Just like in CK 2/3 where you can look at it from a POV that you're roleplaying a ruler, The Guild leans more heavily into that as it dispenses with the map painting and grand strategy (although the series has some small scale stuff with businesses, hostile take overs, thieves, assassins and thugs). It's very satisfying to stuff the right niches in society, business and politics with your friends and family so you can now change laws or get away with crimes as people in judgement just love you so much (or you killed off all the people who were needed for the court case to happen...).
