Which DLC are needed for Elder Kings 2?
I gotta be honest I'm largely uninterested in paradox games as of late, but I've always wanted to play a strategy game set in the Elder Scrolls universe. And since CK3's basegame is (currently) half-off, I was thinking of biting the bullet. The question is, does Elder Kings 2 have any features that need DLC? Are there some that I can avoid entirely? Any help is appreciated.

Technically none of them, but it's compatible with all of them (excepting Legacy of Persia I think because it takes them a while to write patches).

Royal Court and Tours and Tournaments are the only ones I know of with special features/events with Elder Kings, but it can be played with just the basegame.

Depending on the current state of the mod (since latest game update probably broke compatability), you may have to roll back to the previous patch through the opt-in Betas option though. Is definitely worth it though!

None are needed but add a bit more too it.

I would suggest buying the Royal Edition. You can get a key online cheap too. I got the Royal Edition for £18.99. Then get the Chapter 2 bundle whenever.

do you think the latest dlc will offer anything for EK in terms of gameplay mechanics? I think the devs even mentioned they like doing everything in house. So even the house succession from Legacy of Persia has a chance to not be ported over, even for dunmer.

I mean, Legacy of Persia is mostly region based. Clan mechanics might help some stuff and I suspect the new outfits will be used to help add flavour to certain areas of the map, but I doubt they'd reinvent the wheel with it.
