Why doesn't the game let you have your heir all of your inherit titles? Isn't it pointless to have an heir if they only inherit your main title?
I changed the hereditary type to elections which is the old way and it let me choose who I wanted to vote for out of all my family members, but after going feudal now it REMOVES my heir from the list of people I can choose to inherit the lions share of my titles. Like, wtf? What's the point of even having an heir if 90% going to a character I can't even ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ play as? And I don't have enough time before I die to get absolute feudal authority which lets me pick my heir, so basically I just have to claw back all my territory when I die? This is stupid.

Bro those elections are only for one title. More over it depends on your relations level i guess for who they vote. you need to get your innovation to find the correct one for the different settings for inheritage. Those you find under the Authority bar. Some will come later in late game you can choose that either one get all or the younger or the elder or if everyone gets equal . Until then just disinherit all the heirs you dont want to get. But you have to be the head of your dynasty to do that. hope thath helped.

I have soooooooooooooooo many heirs, I don't think you understand how horny my Dynasty head is, let's see.....138 living members of my dynasty, and this is my starting character....
I don't think that's a viable solution.

Also, I can plainly see the election is for way more than 1 title, there's a whole ass list in here, though some of them go to others because of the Confederate Partition, the vast majority go to my one chosen heir who isn't even in the line of succession apparently, or at least not very high up.
Ok I just noticed something really aggravating, the 3 next in line after my current heir AREN'T EVEN RELATED TO ME they are the children of some Countess I'm not related to what the ♥♥♥♥?
well i am sure you will figure out how to get it ^^
Elective is how it was in real life. IF vassals dislike you then they vote someone else then you vote for. Quite simple. Haha dont get what your problem is.
Elective laws only apply to the title you attach them to. Hence why just adding an elective to your primary title will not solve succession issues. Properly manipulated you can basically give yourself pseudo-primogeniture in 867 using them but for that you have to attach those laws to multiple titles and carefully make sure that those titles you attach those laws to do not have any other voters that can outweight your vote or you are absolutely certain enough voters will pick your designated heir.

I personally don't usually bother with electives usually because this unless I absolutely have to. But properly used they can definitely save your succession when they do, you can remove them later when they are no longer needed (such as when you unlock high partition or primogeniture).

Yeah. Every elector can vote. They usually vote for themselves or family members.
Yeah I figured it out, you basically have to just start over every time you get a new heir because you lose 90% of your territory. In my latest character, which is my 3rd played so far, I just had my half brother lay claim to my main title and when I went to war with him to check he pulled 60,000 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ soldier out of his ass to my 9k. He got all those soldiers from the vassals that I CONQUERED on previous lives but every time I become my new heir I basically lose all my vassals which is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ retarded. I'm basically in a spot now where I have built such a powerful empire with my previous lives that I'm completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥ now because they won't listen to me since it's impossible to inherit enough to maintain control when your retardedly OP vassal who inherited ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ everything apparently decides he doesn't need you and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ steam rolls you.

TL;DR this game PUNISHES YOU for doing well, especially in previous lives, so it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pointless to grow your power because you'll get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ by your own ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ vassals.
early game succession requires careful management and sometimes VERY ruthless decisions such as disinheriting heirs, forcing others to become monks or members of religious orders, etc while also making sure you pass on as much power as possible to your primary heir.

It can take a few bad experiences to get the hang of it but once you learn the various tools at your disposal then it becomes an annoyance more then an obstacle to grow powerful.

Or just start as a basque ruler, activate visigothic codes to have high partition at the start and sail through the game.
You can put old vassals who probably wont have children, when they die they pass title and land back to you...

The majority of your combat power should be coming from your Men-At-Arms. There's issue 1: relying on levies is a noob trap.

Issue 2: you shouldn't be letting your vassals rebel at all (unless you're interesting in stealing some of their titles). If your family is supposedly "so horny," then you must have had many relatives to marry off. Why do you not have an alliance with every one of your powerful vassals? If they're your ally, they can't rebel.

TL;DR: Game's fair, and honestly quite easy; your strategy just sucks.
We all have been there, you just have to learn how things in those times worked. To be honest, once you accept how it works, it aint that bad. You just need to focus on your family, not one person or some other chosen one. Nobody lives forever, but your legacy does.

I just like to have lots of kids, i have favorites, but i usually have 2 or 3 behind them in case of "le funny" deaths and whatnot.
You can use elective laws on 2 of your duchies and your kingdom to get 80-100% of the effect of primogeniture.

The while point of ck3s difficulty is managing succession and vassals in a large realm. Without that you just blob endless and it would get boring fast.

Someone don't know about the Duchy of Bohemia and his potential in Gold Income and Military Power.

And trust me, I have won an revolt of my entire Realm with this Duchy only.

You can remove the laws on your titles. There are several ways to mitigate the loss of your lands. 1. Get kids to take vows, disinherit if they are really bad, send them in to war etc.
