Knights OP?
I have 40+ advantage.
I have 20+ commander score.
I've got max men at arm,s, maxed everything.
On par with enemy men at arms.
On par quantity of men.

They have 100 knights. I have my max limit.

I get absolutely slaughtered no matter what. I like that you can't just steam roll, but stength of knights and then the hard cap. Makes rulling an empire ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid.

Yes, I rule an Empire. But we found 12 blokes to defend it. Oh, but they have 100's and each one counts as much as a 100 men.

Yeah it might be worth modding. Vassal revolts are chock full of knights whereas the emperor can only have a few.

It's harsh but makes sense. If they're revolting in the first place then they're already stronger and you're proven to be a bad ruler. It's to incentivise you to manage your realm right and keep people happy.

If this wasn't the way, then vassals would never be able to revolt. This is just how it was in history, vassals together were always stronger, the liege was only ruler because they allowed him to be or because the ruler was good at managing the realm.

Remember one horrible part of the math of combat:

Each difference of 1 on the roll, equals a 2% damage shift.

That's all well and good but what is the logic that an emperor can have a dozen supersoldiers and each lesser vassal can have ten supersoldiers each?

I just had a battle against the Mongols where I totally destroyed them, a "slaughter" every battle, but when I came up against their one knight. although he lost the battle, he managed to kill over 100 soldiers...

I've never once lost a war as Empire tier. You're just bad at the game tbh

AI still sucks, imagine losing as an Empire

of course there are plenty of ways to starve and defeat an enemy AI. They have issues.

i know hes talking pound for pound fighting, but if you've built a culture where the knight count is average 40+ prowess, theres a tonne of damage varying out.

All of that favors the player, not AI.

Fundamental game is the same as it's always been. You can easily solo Jihads/Crusades where the AI rolls around with 100s of knights as an Empire unless you're facerolling your keyboard, I guess.

Your only hope of countering that situation is mercenaries and a holy order, they could give you the extra knights you need to balance it out

They took advantage while I was dismantling the papacy.

I had 40+ advantage, more troops and comparable knight quality. The only difference I could see was quantity of knights, I've never seen anything like it before. It's ironman game, so can't go back and test stuff. But they just destroyed my army, I have no idea if a bug or what.

I managed to win eventually, but just kept attacking and losing over and over, til I had killed enough that could win. Just hired every single mercenary available and meat gridnered them.

Could have been a bug. But assumed at time some patch change or something.

Then he needs to add players.

The game is tons of fun with 10-20!
