Any way to find a lost artefact?
In my current game, the (very silly) Byzantines have lost the Crown of Justinian, so I can't steal it from them. Does anyone know if there's a way for me work out where it went, so I can buy a claim on it? Extra domain limit is more powerful than ever, and it seems a waste to not go get that crown.

So far all I can think of to do is check all the major players to see if any of them has somehow ended up with the crown. No luck. It appears there has been a direct line of succession in the Byzantine empire and they have all their other normal artefacts (Pentaphyrgion, etc). I'm guessing someone stole it or demanded it. I'm hoping there's some way I'm missing to find out its history or something.

If an historic artefact is destroyed via Events or it simply not exist on the chosen start date, you can get it by an Adventurer, who targets the right Region for his Adventure.

But Adventure Inspirations are Royal Court only, you need the Royal Court DLC for it.

Luckily I found it(!) Believe it or not, the Muslim Danish had somehow taken it, and I wonder if it was seized in a raid or something. I was just very lucky I checked the Danish court to see if they had any artefacts worth claiming, as was very surprised to see they'd somehow grabbed the Crown of Justinian.
It's still an interesting question as to whether there is a way for me to see where something is (like for example, is there a way for me to check what artefact claims a foreign ruler has?). Like, it would have been common knowledge in probably the whole world at the time that the Danish had seized the Crown of Justinian in a raid on Byzantion, or at least that the King of Denmark had it on display in his court. Except there doesn't seem to be a way to search for it if it's gone missing like it did, even though in real life everyone would have known where it was.

On the Artifacts Details, you should see the Claimants of this Artefact, both Houses and Characters.

Using this mod can really help finding artifacts. You can disable it after if you don't like its other features.
