Why am I asian?
My first char was a count in Leon (in Brittany) and my wife had a son just in time. Prior to this i seduced and romanced her with both succeeding. However now that my new character is growing up he appears to look very asian, almost Mongolian(not that there is anything wrong with that.) with the eyes and haircut that defaulted

We have no Asians in court (only because there are none around) and we had no asian guests and we didnt go anywhere.. I'm going to try and find secrets to get to the bottom of this.

Did you make a custom ruler, what is your culture, if your dynasty is an established one which is it, What is your wife's culture, and If your wife is from an established dynasty which one is it? These are what look is based on. For the record you can't just copy and past your Sami, mongol, bodpa, etc character over to be an Iberian, french, west germanic, etc one then fix it as there are parts of character DNA not covered by the character creator.

Now if it is some kind of secret love affair it doesn't have to be completely at your court. An affair secret is held by both parties, and a child heritage secret is held by both parents. Have your spymaster find secrets where the secret holder resides to eventually reveal all secrets your spymaster isn't involved with. for an unlanded spouse this would be your capital.

Were your parents Asian?

It was a custom ruler of western europe and i didnt do anything further than that. I also ran debug mode and it didnt have the "realfather"marker on him. The eyes i could maybe see it being a quirk but it was that far east hair style that really made it obvious.

Wife was from france and of french culture too

However you did it you created a character who includes some Asian characteristic. As I said

Hungarians for example can appear with Asian features, and If you pick the western/central Europe culture option it can result in those hidden Asian features as well.

Well i clicked western European, so if that is why there is Asian gene code then that seems unintended. Also Hungary is considered Eastern Europe

You picked the western/central European option which from the games prospective includes Hungary along with many other thing. Things are not the way someone wants them to be simply, because someone wants them to be a set way. It doesn't matter if you think something should be Y, or those people over their think it should be Z when right in front of you that something is represented by an X. Learn to deal with things as they are.

You can try to argue against this until you are blue in the face it is how it currently is, and their are easy ways around it. First you can not use the randomizing options on the left as they are random. If instead you pick then customize a french cultured ruler their features not included in the character creator will be designed for someone of french culture. Secondly you can copy a finished character's DNA into notepad to see if there are any problems with it. If there are you can copy and paste a random of the culture you do want to see what those features should be. Third we are talking about hairstyle this is ridiculous on a few levels it can easily be fixed in barbershop, and it does nothing to the actual game play.

If you look on the map and the area of sweeden, At the top of that area, and a bit to the east along that northern shore, people look asian. It wouldn't be to hard for one of those people on the edge of viking teritory to be related to the people that like on that northern Icy shore.

Try clicking on their lineage and track who the older relatives are, obviously it would be your wifes, what does her line look like?

This is not correct.

The Mogyer are the ones who have the Asian code for their appearance. The Hungarians do not. Mogyer have the Mongol dress and hairstyles. Hungarians have the Continental European dress and hairstyles.

When you select the large regional ethnicities, and pick Western Europe, you shouldn't randomly get a Mogyer, because they use a different template altogether.

Once you see what the character looks like in the designer, you know what physical traits you are looking at. The only thing you won't know are unexpressed traits, but that won't include giving your kid Mongol features and hairstyles.

I am BUT much less due to compatibility though i know it only takes one to mess with coding in unintended ways.

I thought so too but in debug mode it didn't have the "realfather" indicator so something happened.

I died on pneumonia shortly after my initial posting so we'll never get the chance to see what kind of ruler the Asian would have made, or children he would conceive. A damn shame really the game was getting interesting for RP purposes

I appreciate this reference even if no one else does. My wife and I sometimes steal this line when we hear a language we don't know.
