My unlanded kids arent breeding
Im trying to breed cousins with good traits for my heirs but literally not a single one of my kids aside from my heir are producing kids. This was not an issue in the last patch where I had like 30 relatives in my court. What happened?

Maybe they aren’t fond of each other.

Are the at least at your court?

I think unlanded characters have a hidden reduction in fertility (at least that's how it was in Ck2 but maybe not as severe in CK3). You're lucky to get 2 kids out of them at most, if they aren't your direct descendants it seems to drop off even more. If you really want them to have kids you probably should give them at least a county. Also I think the amount of characters in your court might reduce overall fertility of courtiers. Just basing this on how things worked in Ck2.

This is not in CK3, but each Character has a living child limit with 50% to be reduced by one and Counts & Barons have a child limit of 1, only unlanded Emperor & Kings childs can get a fair amount of childs, because they have 5 child slots.

Rulers get more bonuses in general. Plus this or that to attraction, fertility etc. I just had a couple daughters I kept at home as bodyguard shieldmaidens and they each had like 5 or 6 kids each. Beauty and Herculean also help, of course.

Also there's a new random event where young people (either kids or 18 to 25ish) eat a poison berry and die, so that's keeping the population numbers in check. It's kinda funny because people said kids should die more like in medieval times, they make kids die more, and now people complain about that.

Wrong, Rulers have only the Ruler Bonus, for the Child Limit, the Tier Bonus is for them and their Unlanded Childs and Parents.

And a character can always get more childs, than their living child limit allows it, if the last pregnancy resulted in twins.

I just checked and my two unlanded shieldmaiden daughters from my last ruler had 8 and 6 kids respectively. Not sure why you think I'm making that up for some weird reason, lol

And I once had a ruler who had over 30 kids, not sure where the "5 per emperor" thing comes from either, for that matter.

Unlanded couples have a near 0% base chance of having more than 1 kid. Rulers of any level have tiers - the higher the level the more kids they are likely to have. Good strategy is to grant a county or even just a city to someone you want to have more kids.

No, if one of their parents, is as an example an Emperor, they get +5 childs, even they are from an completly unlanded Dynasty, they only have to marry the right Spouse from the right Parents, King or Emperor.

And since Mods no longer blocks Achievements, you can change it to your liking, with an Personal Mod.
